Health Professions Resource Center (HPRC)Data Description
Health Profession Factsheets are created from licensing files provided annually by the licensing boards and credentialing agencies for each specific profession.
Some factors to keep in mind:
- Supply numbers represent professionals with a current license and a practice address (or mailing address when practice address not available) in Texas for each reported year.
- The ratio of population to provider is calculated as the total population of the state divided by the total count of the profession in the state.
- Population numbers correspond to the population projections from the Texas Demographic Center for the corresponding year.
- Not all licensing files include sufficient information on demographic, practice type, hours worked, or education, in those cases, data graphs and tables are not displayed.
