Access and Use. Map data is from the United States Census Bureau 2022 American Community Survey (ACS) 5-year estimates. Data was accessed online in December 2024 from table S2701 "Selected Characteristics of Health Insurance Coverage in the United States." Variables are:
- S2701_C01_001 for Total Population
- S2701_C02_001 for Total Residents Insured
Health Care Facilities. Health care facility data is from Licensing, Credentialing, and Regulation within the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
Health Resources. Health care provider data is from the Health Professions Resource Center (HPRC) in the Center for Health Statistics at the Texas Department of State Health Services.
Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs). HPSAs presented include those designated and proposed for withdrawal, but not yet withdrawn, as of February 2024. Data is from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration. Data was accessed online in February 2024 from: https://data.hrsa.gov/tools/shortage-area.
